Match Light Ignition
Match Light
Self explanatory. There is no pilot light or gas valve included on these models. An in-line or on-set gas valve must be installed with the gas log set. Ignition is achieved by placing an open flame close to the burner while the gas valve is opened. Flame height is also regulated via the gas valve. Only available for Natural Gas units.
Manual Safety Pilot
Manual Safety Pilot
The Manual Safety Pilot features a gas valve that closes when the pilot flame goes out, preventing the spread of unburned gas into the room. Ignition is achieved by means of a push button ignitor. Once the pilot light is lit, the set can be turned off and on simply by turning the throttle from 'Pilot' to 'On'. The pilot light can be extinguished at any time by turning the valve off.
Upgradable to Remote
Upgradable to Remote
The upgradeable to remote system is very similar to the manual safety pilot control. This pilot kit can operate manually now and then a remote can be added at a later date. This "remote ready" configuration allows for different types of remotes to be purchased at different times or switched out to your liking.
Remote Control
Remote Control
Different manufacturers provide different remote control options. Some sets only give the option to turn the flame height up and down once the pilot is manually lit, while others allow the control of the pilot light and flame height control. Some Vent-free sets allow the user to set the temperature from the remote.
